Ductile Iron Pipes

Ductile iron pipes are a reliable solution for water supply, sewage, industrial and infrastructure projects. They combine high mechanical strength, durability and long service life, making them suitable for demanding operating conditions. We supply ductile iron pipes in various joint types, size ranges and pressure classes, with suitable linings and coatings depending on the application. We support each project with clear product information, relevant documentation and coordinated delivery.

Coatings & Linings

Our ductile iron pipes can be adapted to different water qualities, soil conditions and project requirements through a suitable combination of internal lining an external coating.

In general, all the coatings and linings can be applied on any joint type. Exception is the XTJ jacking pipe. It is more limited.

External coatings

The external coating provides corrosion protection against soil and environmental
exposure.

General soil conditions (most soils)Zinc + HCPE finishing layer
Corrosive soilsZn-Al rare earth alloy + blue epoxy coating, or Zinc + HCPE finishing layer + PE sleeve
Highly corrosive soilsSpecial coating (PU coating)

Internal coatings

The internal lining protects the pipe on the medium side and influences hydraulic performance.

Standard solutions such as cement mortar lining are suitable for many general water applications, while enhanced and special linings such as seal coat, sulphur resistant cement mortar, high-alumina cement mortar, PU lining and ceramic epoxy lining are available for more demanding service conditions.

Cement mortar lining Standard lining for general water applications
Cement mortar lining + seal coat Enhanced lining with improved surface and hydraulic performance
Sulphur resistant cement mortar lining For water with increased sulphate and higher corrosive potential
High-alumina cement mortar lining For more aggressive water conditions
PU lining Special lining for demanding chemical and operating conditions
Ceramic epoxy lining Special lining for aggressive or abrasive service conditions

Standards & Certificates

Our ductile iron pipes are manufactured according to internationally recognized standards for ductile iron pipes and fittings, including ISO 2531, EN 545 and EN 598.

Relevant certificates and drinking water approvals help demonstrate compliance with quality requirements, product standards and potable water suitability in selected markets.

Certificates

ISO certification

ISO standards define internationally recognized requirements for quality, manufacturing and management processes. For example, ISO 9001 confirms that a manufacturer operates a certified quality management system.

EN standard certification

EN standards are European product standards that define technical requirements, testing methods and performance criteria. For ductile iron pipes, relevant EN standards help ensure that products meet established requirements for dimensions, materials, coatings, linings and pressure performance.

WRAS certification

WRAS approval confirms that materials and products in contact with drinking water meet the relevant UK water regulations. For ductile iron pipes, WRAS certification helps demonstrate that coatings, linings and sealing materials are suitable for use in potable water applications.

EU-DWD

EU Drinking Water Directive certification is currently in progress and planned for early 2027. The directive defines harmonized European requirements for materials and products in contact with drinking water, helping ensure their suitability for potable water applications across the EU.
